For those who do not understand Spanish, the customer/sender, Victoria M, wrote: "My mother did not receive the flowers on the requested day."
The recipient, Victoria R, lives on Fisher Island, an island off the coast of Miami Beach. The only way to get to Fisher Island is by a ferry. Guests are allowed on the ferry only after they have been cleared by the island resident. On the delivery day, I called the recipient and left her a voice mail asking her to clear us for the ferry. I then sent a text asking her to clear us for the ferry. Victoria R never cleared my driver for the ferry. As a result, we were unable to board the ferry to deliver the flowers.
The thing is both the sender, Victoria M, and her mother, the recipient, Victoria R, know this is the procedure. It is made very clear to island residents and their guests. So they are being extremely disengenuous by complaining we didn't deliver when it was their resposibility to clear us for the ferry.
Translation:
La receptora, Victoria R, vive en Fisher Island, una isla frente a la costa de Miami Beach. La única forma de llegar a Fisher Island es en ferry. Los invitados pueden subir al ferry solo después de que hayan sido autorizados por el residente de la isla. Balloons were not fully inflated with helium

Without seeing the product, I can only guess what went wrong. Balloon bouquets are made of two kinds of balloons: mylar (a plasticized aluminum with writing and pictures) and latex (a single color rubber). Healthy mylar balloons will usually stay afloat for 3-5 DAYS while the latex balloons will stay afloat 3-5 HOURS.
Mylar balloons occasionally develop a slow leak. They may leave the shop fully inflated but over 12-24 hours they may start to look underinflated if they have a leak.
Latex balloons will start to oxidize immediately upon inflation where the helium gas will interact with the latex and become heavy which in turn will cause the balloon to lose its buoyancy and will fall.
Please, next time, call us immediately so we can fix this (or any floral problem for that matter) for you.

This is one of those, "Huh?" orders where we have no idea what the sender is talking about.
Sender ordered 30 stems of mixed color tulips arranged in a vase. We delivered 30 stems of mixed color tulips (pink, red and purple) accented by pussy willow which is our standard practice. Sender sent me three pictures of the delivered product. I looked and looked and looked but couldn't see anything wrong with the delivered product. In his email to me about the delivery and his comments above, he makes no mention what he actually finds wrong about the product. (I did respond to him that he is the first and only sender of tulips in my 34 years of selling flowers to complain about delivered tulips.) So I am at a complete loss to understand the problem.
He asked for a refund which we cheerfully gave. So he got 30 tulips delivered on Valentines' Day free. And yet he still complains? As I said, "Huh?".

I was disappointed with the bouquet that I ordered on Monday, January 31, 2022.
It was an expensive order and I thought for that price I was ordering at least a dozen roses in that bouquet. WHen it was delivered to my mom yesterday, there was only 7 roses in the it.

Customer ordered the STANDARD version of the Rose and Lily Bouquet. The description on the website says, "Two (2) multi-bloom pink oriental lilies and 7 red roses arranged in a vase with decorative greens."
On the other hand, the PREMIUM version description says, "Four (4) multi-bloom pink oriental lilies and 12 red roses arranged in a vase with decorative greens."
So now she is saying she doesn't understand why the standard version doesn't look as full and lush as the premium version even though the website is clearly marked what she was buying.
Please, dear customer, as I have said on these pages before, Please read the product description of what you are buying on anyone's website so that you will know what you are buying. Please don't just press a button and forget to read the description. It will avoid a lot of heartache later.

Sender called me very agitated. When I calmed her down enough so that I could locate her order in my records, I saw she had ordered white peonies. I told her that the whole box of 100 white peonies that I got from my supplier was no good, a failure I did not know when I sent her daughter her gift. It was only 24 hours later that I saw the whole box was no good. So it would be my pleasure to send a replacement when I could get new, fresh white peonies.
The replacement went out the very next day.
But as I've said before in this review section, I am from the old school where it is taught that one always acknowledges the kindness of the sender but refers all issues to the merchant. I will never understand the recipient who tells the sender you wasted your money, the florist sent something sub-standard, etc. when what they should have done is tell the sender, "Thank you, it is beautiful," and then call me and say, "The flowers you delivered didn't hold up. Can you please replace them?" Any professional florist, or any merchant for that matter, would say, "It would be my pleasure to send you a replacement."

The order was place online on Sunday morning at 09:14am.
I sent a text message at 10:03am to the sender to say we had sold out of roses and were not getting anymore until Monday morning. Thus, the earliest we could deliver was Monday afternoon. I asked, "Is this acceptable?" Sender never responded on Sunday.
Monday morning around 10:30am the sender called to ask why the roses weren't delivered on Sunday? I said I sent you a text saying we were sold out of roses and would deliver Monday afternoon. He said he never got the text. We continued our discussion and discovered he had put the recipient's phone number where his (the sender's) phone number should have gone and his phone number where her phone number should have gone. Thus, our text went to her phone! He asked we deliver later that morning. I said we are waiting for the delivery from our supplier. Thus, delivery will be this afternoon.
We received our flower shipment around 2:00pm, processed all flowers and filled all orders. We went on delivery around 3:30pm.
At 4:04pm Monday sender called to ask where are the roses? I said they are on the truck. He complained it's been a day and a half since he asked for the delivery. I reminded him that I texted him to advise we were out of roses and thus delivery would be Monday afternoon, just as I had affirmed to him earlier. Then he said it's been all day we have been waiting.
At 4:57pm his wife called screaming at me, "Where are the roses? The recipient is here...." I didn't say a word and let her vent. After a while, she stopped and said, "Well, what do you have to say?" I said literally one word and she jumped in screaming again that the recipient is going to be there shortly..." (Huh? She earlier said the recipient was there. Now, she was saying the recipient is on her way!) When she finally let me talk, I said the roses are on the truck and will arrive this afternoon. She said, "They better."
Delivery occurred at 5:25pm Monday or two hours after our driver went on delivery.

It's also great that there was communication every step, which put me at ease because it was my first time using Blu and I was ordering from out of state. This is similar to a complaint we received last year. Yes, the delivered product looked different from the online picture for one simple reason: the online picture just shows fruit in a basket. Nothing else. We deliver the fruit in a basket that is enclosed in cellophane with a large, oversized bow that turns the fruit into a gift, a point that is clearly marked in the product description ("[the] gift [will be] wrapped with cellophane and a large bow"). Did you seriously think we would deliver just a basket of fruit with no decoration? On behalf of every online merchant I beg you to please always read the product description and terms of sale; it will avoid misunderstandings like this.
We sent you, the customer, a picture of the finished product by text and by email prior to delivery. If you didn't like the appearance of the gift, then why didn't you call us so we discuss it and accommodate you?

This company was very efficient in processing my order and delivery as well as notification of delivery, however they substituted a different color flower without notify me so I might change the order but did deliver a photo of the substitution after the fact with the note that they reserved the right on their website to do so. For all of their efforts and mine a simple call asking permission to substitute would have made for a potentially satisfying experience.
PS The recipient said that it was terrible….not sure what we paid but too much.

This is one of those complaints where I have to scratch my head and go, "Huh?"
The order was for The Orchid Bouquet. The description for this order calls for "purple dendrobium and fuchsia mokara orchids." We created this gift with purple dendrobium and fuchsia mokara orchids. We did not use any other flowers or colors. Sometimes there is a slight variation in the hue of the color; that is Mother Nature at work. But the product used was the purple/fuchsia orchids.
In addition, we take pictures of the recipient holding the delivered gift as proof of delivery. We have a picture of the recipient with a BIG smile holding the purple/fuchsia orchids. I will be more than happy to send this photo to any customer who asks.
So what happened? I do not know other than we delivered exactly what the sender/customer ordered.

I really do not understand this complaint.
The customer ordered our "Mellow Yellow Rose premium", 30 stems of yellow roses cut extra, extra short so that only the rose head sticks out of the low 5"H x 5"D cylinder. It is listed among a number of the tight and compact, contemporary style of rose arrangements. Now, we do have a picture two rows below the Mellow Yellow Rose of long stem roses arranged in a vase. Yet the customer ordered the roses cut short.
On the very same page where the customer ordered his chosen product, we list the terms of sale called "The Fine Print." One of the terms says, "Pictures of all arrangements are close ups so they may make the arrangement look much bigger than it is. If dimensions are not listed for your purchase, please call us at (305) 865-0433 to verify this is the size you want if size is important." To the best of my knowledge, the customer never called to ask how big is his gift. And yet he complains that his purchase was small.
The customer accused me of being unprofessional even though we delivered exactly what was ordered. I reject that accusation. But what can be said about a customer who orders the "Mellow Yellow Roses" and then complains when we deliver the "Mellow Yellow Roses?" Please, dear customers, please take a moment to read the terms of sale on our website, on Amazon, on Ebay, et al to make sure you know what you are ordering. It will save a lot of heartache later.

The flowers that were received looked nothing like the picture online. I was told that “the photos on the website were taken years ago”. That’s false advertising and I would recommend updating your website. Paying $150 and it being nothing like expected is unacceptable and very deceiving.

This is a continuation of an exchange of emails between the customer and me.
We pointed out to the customer that the delivered product used all the same flowers as in the picture. The only substitution was the container. Our description says we are using a glass cube lined with a leaf. And we say in the terms of sale that containers are never guaranteed as they constantly come and go.
However, I think the main reason the customer didn't like the delivered product was because the recipient texted her an image that is almost dark, black and foreboding. I cringed when I saw her picture. Yet, I texted her a well lit picture of the finished product BEFORE we sent it on delivery. I will never understand why she didn't contact me when she received my texted image prior to delivery to tell me she wasn't happy and instead relied on the recipient's ugly text image to base her displeasure.
Finally, she asked for and receive a full refund. So she got the flowers for free and she still complains. Go figure.

Amazing service. We sent this as a birthday gift to our cousin. She received the bouquet a week early, but didn't think anything of it because her birthday is close to Valentine's Day and flower delivery scheduling around that time period can be complicated. A week later on her birthday she received a second bouquet with a note apologizing for inadvertently sending the first bouquet a week too soon. This was completely unexpected. I also received a text with photo letting me know that the 2nd bouquet was on route. Both bouquets were beautiful, and she was delighted.

The first time I sent an orchid which was 3 foot tall and so beautiful my daughter brought it with her on her way back to Italy via Pennsylvania where I live and it’s still beautiful and that was two years ago. This year I sent her the salt and pepper arrangement and my daughter loved it. Gorgeous arrangement! I wouldn’t order flowers from any other business. "The picture on the website has all the roses on one side of the vase facing the camera; in other words, a 180° arrangement. That leaves a back side of only greenery.
In addition, this one sided stock image of three and four dozen roses exists so that the purchaser can see all the roses he/she is buying; an all around version of the same arrangement would have half the flowers blocked from view on the "back side" of the arrangement.
Finally, to get the effect of the on-line picture, we would have to cut many of the long stem roses into very short stems.
When we do the actual arrangement, we make it an all around, 360° arrangement and spread all the roses throughout the arrangement. And we keep the stems as big as possible so that E*** (the recipient) would enjoy as large an arrangement as possible.
I get one complaint like this one every 4-5 years. One time, I actually did a replacement that looked exactly like the picture. Both the sender and the recipient hated it with a passion! Oh, well."

The final look is a bit different than the photo - the colors were overall pinker/lighter/more pastel and the ribbon a light pink color and tied differently than what the picture shows. These are minor, but I find the aesthetic in the website photo more pleasing than the aesthetic of the final bouquet.
I would not hesitate to order again and, understanding the system and inevitable variations, if I have color/style preferences, it might be beneficial to follow up with a phone call if ordering online. I didn’t think of this until I saw the photo of the bouquet that had been made for my order.

This customer made the same complaint to me privately by email. The thing is she is completely wrong.
For our balloon bouquets (the ordered product), we attach the balloons to a weight. In most cases and including this one, the weight is a jar of MILK chocolate Hershey® Kisses. Hershey wraps its Xmas wrapped MILK chocolate kisses in red, silver and green foil for the Xmas holiday season. We put all green MILK chocolate kisses in the same jars, the reds in a second set of jars and the silver in a third set of jars. They are the regular MILK chocolate kisses that 99% of the people reading this response have had sometime in their life.
Recipient received a jar of green wrapped MILK chocolate kisses and incorrectly assumed it must be mint. Didn't bother to smell them, taste them or call me. Just assumed they must be mint. Then instead of calling me to fix the perceived problem, she complained to the sender, her sister. I don't know about you, dear reader, but I am from the old school. If I receive a gift, I tell the sender it is great and then I take up any questions with the merchant. As a result in this case, the sender felt bad for no reason other than her sister the recipient make an incorrect assumption.
By the way, I sent the sender (who lives in another country) a picture of the Hershey kisses Xmas assortment so she could see for herself the three colors of MILK chocolate kisses. And she still complains.

You are right. In their haste to do this arrangement, my designers confused your ordered product, the Green Orchids in a Vase, with the Green Orchids and Green Hydrangea. They are next to each other on the website. But as you note, the ordered Green Orchids in a Vase uses WHITE hydrangea in addition to the green cymbidium orchids while the produced Green Orchids and Green Hydrangea uses GREEN Hydrangea in addition to the green cymbidium orchids. I regret the mix up.
Please mention this mistake of ours the next time you order and I will be happy to make amends.

I used you a second time because of my first experience with you on Mothers Day. We had a nice display of tulips that looked good. So, I thought I'd use you again and ordered these Peonies for my wedding anniversary. They arrived looking nothing like the photo, which as you can see is a very tight grouping of approx 15 Peonies. What arrived was an arrangement of mostly greens and leaves with 10 Peonies interspersed. The water in the vase was cloudy and unappealing. We took the flowers and re-arranged them in one of our own vases and changed out the water. So, I give a B- on this.

Forgive me but I do not understand. You ordered a product that is naturally small and then express frustration when you get it? Huh? Anyone who has ever purchased lily of the valley knows it is small. And anyone who has an appreciation for fresh flowers knows that it is small. Now, we have a note on the very same page you placed your order that says,
"Pictures of all arrangements are close ups so they may make the arrangement look much bigger than it is. If dimensions are not listed for your purchase, please call us at (305) 865-0433 to verify this is the size you want if size is important. [Randall never called to inquire about the size.]
"You purchased one of the most refined products we sell, one that is usually only available twice a year in Miami [the week before Xmas and Mothers' Day week], one that is one of the most expensive that we sell without asking the size if size is important to you? And a perishable product at that?"
This is me again. In other words, Randall ordered an expensive product because he thought it would be large. He ignored our advice to the contrary. Had he politely and respectfully called and said, "Yes, I made a mistake. But this is not the gift I really meant to order. Can we exchange it?" I would have said yes.

I didn't get what I ordered for Mother's Day. Opted to go with a florist that presented well curated arrangements vs 1800flowers and would have had a better experience with them. When calling on Monday to express concerns, found who I believe the owner to be abrasive. He was more interested in talking and presenting excuses vs listening to my feedback. He talked over me, not a way to address or rectify a disappointing experience. In the end, he refunded me the difference and apologized, but wouldn't recommend using his business again.

Now, each gift has a card with the recipient's name written on it. Not one of the three recipients contacted me to say they have a gift with someone else's name on it! I explained this to Erica and apologized. She asked for a refund for the difference of the gift she got ("Zen") instead of what she ordered ("Green Orchids in a Vase") which I cheerfully agreed to do. She then complained that she could have gone to 800 flowers..... I'm sorry, Erica, but people do make mistakes.

As to the variation between the picture and the delivered product: Sometimes the exact same flowers are not available and sometimes even the same flowers have variations in the color. We try as much as possible to match the color, but there are times we have to substitute, a point we acknowledge in the terms of sale ("The Fine Print") on the page you placed your order. As to the greeting card....This is a comment I get every so often. I suspect people are looking for an envelope which holds a greeting card. However, my computer prints a tri-fold card (without an envelope). On one panel is the recipient's name while on another is the sender's message; to see the message, one must unfold the tri-fold card. Since the recipient doesn't see an envelope, s/he thinks there is no attached message. But I am sure the tri-fold card is there because how else would my driver know which arrangement on a truck full of arrangements goes to which recipient? She matches the name on the tri-fold card to that address.

I responded that evening by email by apologizing for the order arriving too late in the day for us to deliver and asking if we could deliver it the next day.
His assistant emailed us okay to deliver on Wednesday, January 30.
Sender/Ken, however, was understandably upset that the order did not go the way we all would have wanted. We have reached an understanding how to resolve this.

Customer ordered a vase filled with ten (10) stems of orange mokara orchids. Each stem usually measures 8" to 10" long. I have no control over that--that is how long Mother Nature grows them. If customer wanted something big, I would suggest she should have called first to find out the dimensions of what she was purchasing.
Secondly, this was delivered Thursday, Thanksgiving Day. I had extra stems of orange mokara orchids that I personally added to this purchase. So I gave her 15 stems instead of the 10 she purchased. In other words, I gave her more than she purchased and still she expressed dissatisfaction with her purchase.
In thirty years of selling flowers, I have received my fair share of complaints. But this complaint I will never understand.

Ordered product has 10 stems of white lilies arranged in a vase. That's it.
The website picture shows 10 stems of lilies with all flower pods open; that would last about 4-6 days. The delivered product used 10 young stems of lilies with some open flowers and many closed pods which would open over the ensuing 2 weeks.
Do we believe we delivered what was ordered? Yes. Do we believe that the delivered product would continue to open and look similar to the website picture? Yes.

I’ve ordered from this flower shop before, a few days before my wife’s birthday they were sending emails reminding me of the upcoming date. I think this a phenomenal idea! Also when I called with a question the owner answered the phone personally, nowadays you get answering machines, hopefully at the end of the long message you’ll get someone on the phone to answer your question.
One area of suggested improvement, Is the ability to write a slightly longer message when ordering online. There’s only room for a couple of sentences before your fig sauce did the allowed number of characters. Please allow for slightly longer messages for those of us that might be more verbose.
Otherwise, I will order from this store again and recommend it to friends.

The arrangement looked just the picture on the website which was great. The roses,however, seem a little too open too mature (particularly the lavender ones) and don't look like they will last past tomorrow or even later today (I ordered the arrangement for my husband so I'm getting to see it and see how long the roses last before I have to pick them out). We recently moved from NY so we're used to paying premium prices for flowers but this seemed pretty high for the roses to be dying by the next day.

There are several reasons I used his flower shop. Primarily like to support small businesses in the mid beach area. I called and I believe the owner answered, very polite! They also deliver on Sundays which on this occasion was important to me.
The only criticism I have is that the dialog box in which to write a greeting is too short. I found it difficult to express my greetings to the recipient and had to be very concise. I would appreciate a much generous area in which to write a greeting! Even my name at the conclusion of the greeting was excluded. The person didn't know who sent the flowers!
Case in point this dialog box is already twice as long as the one that was provided for my recent flower delivery.
Otherwise good experience.
