We are a Mom and daughter owned shop! Mom started the flower business back in 2001 when the shop was in Playa Del Rey. Then jumping forward to 2014, she had been wanting to be closer to home (we're South Bay locals!) and an older couple who'd been doing flowers and balloons was ready to retire and asked Mom to take over the shop. Then came 2016, Jane moved back to California from living abroad in Seoul, teaching English and working for a photographer, and Mom decided it was time to remodel the shop. So Jane, not knowing what to do with her life (every millennial's problem, am I right?!), decided to help out, even though she wasn't super stoked on the idea of hopping in to the family business. But after spending some time in the shop, Jane quickly realized how much she enjoyed working with people, flowers and especially Mom. With Mom's experience and daughter's fresh ideas, J Flowers blossomed. And the rest is still being written... So stay tuned!
In some instances, the florists’ photo may represent an overall theme or look and include a one-of-a-kind vase which cannot be exactly replicated. Although the actual bouquet may not precisely match the photo, its temperament will. Occasionally, substitutions of flowers or containers happen due to weather, seasonality and market conditions which may affect availability. If this is the case with the gift you've selected, the local florist will ensure that the style, theme and color scheme of your arrangement is preserved and will only substitute items of equal or higher value.
Every gift ordered through BloomNation is personally hand-delivered by the local florist. Each local florist sets their own delivery area and fee.
Most florists offer same-day hand delivery, but may have different order received cut-off times for same-day delivery that are based off of the recipient’s time zone. Florists that offer same day delivery display their same-day delivery cut-off time in their store detail section. Orders received after that time may be delivered the following day. Please note some florists may not make deliveries on Sunday.
To request a specific delivery time, please type it into the Special Instructions field during checkout. We will do our best to accommodate your preferences. Before major holidays, we recommend that you place your orders at least five days in advance.
